Extracurricular Activities

Northside offers extracurricular activites for many interests.

Academic Team is a group of students interested in friendly academic competition. Students meet twice a week to practice answering quick recall questions using a buzzer system. These students prepare for the district Governor's Cup competition by having friendly scrimmage meets with other schools within in the county.

Art Club is open to anyone in 4th or 5th grade. We do art projects and crafts afterschool on Monday afternoons. The Art Club also makes signs, banners, props and decorations for events occurring at the school. We have a tie-dye party every spring at the end of the year. We have a great time and enjoy spending time together.

Midway Community Children's Choir began in the fall of 2012 and is open to 3rd-5th grade students who either attend Northside Elementary and/or live in the city of Midway. Practice is Friday afternoons until 4:00. In the first semester of the choir we gave 4 concerts within the community of Midway.

Music Club is open to 4th and 5th graders and meets after school for 1 hour each week. The club focuses on more in-depth musical concepts and performance. We perform the national anthem every year for a Lexington Legends baseball game as well as other various performances throughout the community.

Student Technology Leadership Program is a club for 4th and 5th grade students interested in technology. The program provides an opportunity for students to create technology products, provide services, or carry out projects that help the school community.
